One of our neighbors gets a Blue Apron delivery once a week. Blue Apron is basically a box of ingredients and a list of recipes. From what I understand of the service, you choose the recipes you want to make (from the list on their website) and they send you the things to make it. … More Grocery delivery.
My spouse and I were talking about voting next week and how I feel like it really doesn’t matter if I vote or not. California is one of those states where the majority of the population (that is allowed to vote) all thinks one way. One vote doesn’t really make a difference. Either I’m voting with … More Alienation and alien nation
Except that sometimes you can. When we first moved here, we picked what we thought was an awesomely amazing apartment. It has a nice location next to a multi-use trail, a park that was nearby, and walking distance to a couple of grocery stores, and a cute little “downtown” with coffee shops, restaurants, and a … More You can’t go home again…
Our adorable precocious child will be 5 years old soon. That means he should be starting kindergarten soon. His birthday is very close to the cut off date for kindergarten entry. He’s very intelligent (I might be biased) but we don’t think he’s emotionally & socially ready to attend school with 20+ kids. So we will … More People will think we’re crazy.
Yeah…no…not gonna lie….I’ve missed three days and it’s only the 7th, so I really don’t think this is going to happen. Maybe next year? I just don’t have that many places I need to go. I hate the idea of having to go peddle around just because it’s May and I’m supposed to bike every … More The end of bike every day in May.
I didn’t bike today. We went to a local bicycle show that ended being a massive disappointment. Then we came home and I took a nap.
Weekly shopping trip to the neighborhood store. Tracking app only caught the ride back, but that’s ok 🙂 Only a mile, but it’s a mile that an awful lot of people would’ve driven a car. Slower than average speed, but hey…you’d be slow too if you were hauling 50 or so pounds of groceries on … More Day 5: Ride every day in May
Didn’t ride today. Didn’t leave the house today. I kept offering, but our kid just wanted to stay home today, so that’s what we did.
A fun little loop to an office park and back. I still think pedaling with 40 lbs of kid on the back should count extra. Nice average speed today, helped in part by the big loop bit being a college campus that’s fairly flat and relatively traffic free.
Just a quick run to the store for strawberries, an onion, and an avocado. I probably could have gone a bit further but I didn’t have it in me this morning. I got woken up at 2 am because our kid had a bad dream. Spent most of the time between 2am and 6am with … More Day 2: Bike every day in May
