North of San Francisco, there’s huge fires. Over in the East Bay, there’s big fires. Up in the Mountains between here and Santa Cruz, there’s a fire.
We live in a decidedly suburban area. Lots of asphalt, concrete, and buildings. We’re not worried (yet) about wildfire. But wildfire smoke? Oh yeah. That’s a thing. The “new normal” is waking up in the morning and checking the air quality map, then checking the cal fire map, then starting the rest of the day. We had a relatively smoke-free weekend. It was wonderful to be able to get out of the apartment. But we’re back to hanging out inside now, Air quality ranges from “warning” to “unhealthy”.
